A BIT ABOUT ME & THERAPY

Dr. Andrea T. Johnson, Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor,

I completed the doctoral requirements earning a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at Sam Houston State University.  I provide counseling and supervision services, helping others work towards healing and change. Also, I frequently teach in the university setting.  My research interest include multicultural issues, spirituality, and trauma.  I am dedicated to serving our community through practice, research, and training.

I believe that clients have the ability to choose how to resolve their own problems and can make their own decisions with my assistance as a facilitator. I believe that clients are responsible for their own behaviors, thoughts, and feelings. As a counselor, I encourage for my clients to develop greater self-awareness and mental health through their life experiences, building increased confidence, self-esteem, independence, and the capacity to effectively navigate the complex challenges of life. Some clients need only a few counseling sessions to achieve these goals, while others may require more counseling.

As a client, you maintain control of yourself and you may end our counseling relationship at any point, and I will be supportive of that position. If you are dissatisfied with my work, I will help you find another counselor with whom you might be able to work effectively.

Money Pandey, LPC-Associate

I believe that life’s experiences are our greatest teachers and most valuable assets. Each experience shapes our journey and contributes to who we are. If you’re struggling to find meaning or purpose in your experiences, we can work together to explore your story, embrace its uniqueness, and move toward living life to the fullest.

Born in Nepal, I spent my early years in the small village of Kanakot, Naubise, before moving to Kathmandu at the age of eight to begin my academic journey. My upbringing, deeply rooted in Hindu philosophy, instilled in me the belief that true peace is achieved through Karma—our actions and intentions.

I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler Graduate School and a Master’s in Peace, Development, Security, and International Conflict Transformation from the University of Innsbruck, Austria. Fluent in Nepali, English, and Hindi, I strive to provide culturally sensitive care to diverse communities.

For several years, I have been dedicated to working with women and children, with a deep passion for supporting children and new mothers who have experienced trauma. My therapeutic approach is grounded in gratitude, self-trust, and personal growth. I believe that even the most difficult experiences hold the potential for transformation. Through our work together, I aim to help you find meaning in your journey, build resilience, and move toward healing and empowerment.

I integrate a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy, tailoring treatment to meet your unique needs.

If you are seeking support on your path to healing, I would be honored to walk alongside you as you rediscover strength, resilience, and hope.

Abisinuola Harris, LPC-Associate

Abisinuola (Abi-sin-you-ola) graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology where she fell more in love with the field. Her goal is to facilitate awareness of one’s past, work through one’s present, and plant seeds of hope for the future.

She is passionate about working with men, women and families facing difficulties related to immigration, anxiety, self-esteem, intergenerational trauma and issues stemming from family of origin and childhood. As your therapist, we’ll explore the aspects of your identity, culture, and experiences that have shaped who you are today.

We’ll challenge unhelpful thought patterns and build skills that empower you to grow and move toward your goals. Therapy is a courageous step, and while healing takes time, you don’t have to do it alone.

TOLULOPE MEJOLAGBE

License Professional Counselor

I am a second generation Nigerian-American. I primarily work with those who experience anxiety and depression with, an interest in supporting birthing people with pregnancy pre/postpartum disorders, and supporting BIPOC communities. We will explore how we can work collaboratively to overcome obstacles that may impede you from living life.

I approach counseling as uncovering the roots of negative behavior in order to break long-lasting negative patterns. This is done by first developing a therapeutic relationship and building safety. Trauma modalities are then used to heal the roots of dysfunction or abuse. I operate from a client centered approach while integrating body awareness.
I applaud you for taking the step toward inner exploration. It can often be perceived as an intimidating venture but with therapy, you do not have to do it alone. Please do not hesitate to email or call if you feel I am potentially a good fit to come walk alongside you!
